Gourd (Lau)

Bottle gourd name comes because of its shape. It contains mostly 92% of water. It is indeed bottle shaped, light green & long. The flesh inside is spongy & you can also cut it into little pieces and make a curry out of it. It is not only rich in necessary iron, minerals, protein and trace elements; it is also high in fiber. It helps reduce the inflammations in the liver and kidneys. It helps to treat urinary tract infection.
